Nanotronics, Brooklyn

Imagine a historical Civil War-era ship building warehouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard turned into a high-tech advanced manufacturing facility and headquarters for Nanotronics, by Rogers Partners.

We love the assignment and the challenge–working with historical buildings and so much steel and glass can be quite the acoustic puzzle. Habitat Matter focused on the client’s approach to reduce the carbon footprint of what will become the City’s first “smart factory” and introduced a grid of ceiling panels made with recycled PET, a secret weapon against unwanted echoes and noise and single use of plastic.
